In June 2020 we’ve started with our turnaround activities for our client at Europoort Rotterdam. Due to the coronavirus, our client decided to spread the work activities over a couple of months instead of a few weeks and to comply with the guidelines of the Dutch government.

A turnaround of a very large scale
Gunvor is a modern refinery and an international distribution center, located at Europoort Rotterdam. Due to the coronavirus, our client decided to move the original date of the planned turnaround to June 2020 and to extend its lenght with a few months. In this way, there would be a minimum occupation on site and our client and other contractors could carry out the work based on the set guidelines of the Dutch government.

During the turnaround MOB executed various maintenance activities, repairs and other mechanical and piping activities. We were also asked to execute an assignment with a high complexity, also known as ‘the Crexit’. The Crexit involved the separation of plant Crude 1 and 2. Because our work activities were divided over a longer period, MOB was able to focus on completing its turnaround activities safe and of a high quality.
