In the spring of 2011, mob started the prefabrication and installation of pipelines and steel work for a new tank park with 15 new storage tanks at the Royal Vopak terminal in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands.

The work for this project was carried out in modules and to enable this, MOB had built six complete pipe bridges (30m) including pipelines at its workshop in Rotterdam.  The pipe bridges were then transported to the Vopak terminal and, using heavy cranes, were hoisted to the required site. New pumps and drainage vessels were installed and the pipelines were subsequently put in place, tested and made ready for operation.

In this multi-disciplinary project, MOB was responsible for pipeline and steelwork as well as insulation, scaffolding and paintwork. Totalling approximately 25,000 man-hours, MOB delivered this project in phases before its completion at the end of 2011. Royal Vopak is a world market leader in the independent storage of liquid bulk goods such as oil products, chemicals, vegetable oils and liquefied gases.
